Parcel theft is a common issue in shared residential buildings, especially where deliveries are left in communal areas. The following advice can help reduce opportunities for theft and keep residents’ items safe.

Opt for delivery to collection points (e.g., parcel shops, lockers such as InPost, post office).

Choose services where a signature is required so parcels are not left unattended in the communal areas.

Avoid having parcels left in lobbies or hallways visible from exterior doors.

Encourage installation of:

Lockable parcel rooms
Secure parcel lockers
Lockable shelving units (accessible only to residents)

Collect parcels promptly once notified of delivery.

Report suspicious behaviour — e.g., individuals tailgating, checking parcel areas, or forcing entry.

Share delivery times or secure delivery locations with trusted neighbours.
